The annual state mandated canvass of voters has been completed by the Southbury Registrar of Voters office.  As a result of this years canvass the Registrars office has removed 55 voters in addition to the 299 voters who have been removed since the year 2004.  Also, 164 voters were placed on “inactive” status.  Removed voters are persons who have moved out of town, died or have been “inactive” more than four years.  Voters, who fail to answer and return the canvass letters sent out by the Registrars office, are placed on the inactive list.

Voters who re concerned about their voting status are invited to inspect the list of voters which can be found on a table in the lobby by the Registrars office.  This list will indicate whether a voter is active, inactive or removed.  Voter registration forms are available in the box by the office door.  Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
