Department Information

    The Parks & Recreation Department is located in the Senior / Parks and Recreation Center building.

    The Parks and Recreation Department is under the direction of the Board of Selectman and the Parks and Recreation Commission. The commission includes Glenn Ackerman, Philip Adams, Justin Bette, Ralph Camasso, Larry Ernst, Lora Morrow, and Charles Rosa (Chairman). Alternates - Peter Billias, Tom Kahl, Jay O'Brien and Carol Hubert (Board of Selectman Liaison). The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 7:15 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Senior / Parks Center.

     The department offers a variety of programs designed to meet the physical, social, cultural, and educational needs of the people of Southbury through supervision and management of recreation and facilities.

     Activity brochures are distributed for fall, winter, spring, and summer. They are available at the Parks and Recreation office and are put through the school system.
