Dear Taxpayer,

Our Assessors compile a new grand list each October 1st. Motor vehicles registered on or before that date are taxed for payment in full the following July. However, if the vehicle was disposed of after October 1st, and not replaced, you may receive a pro-rated credit. If the vehicle was registered out of state after October 1st, you are also entitled to a credit.

To receive this credit, you must supply the Assessor's office with proof. A copy of the following is sufficient documentation:

    A. Out of State Registration

    B. Bill of Sale -- Dated with Description of Vehicle

    C. Motor Vehicle Department Receipt Showing Cancellation of Plates

    D. Receipt Showing Vehicle was Totaled

    E. Police Report Showing Vehicle was Stolen and Not Recovered

    F. Insurance Policy Cancellation on Specific Vehicle(s) (Stolen or Totaled)

Please submit this proof as soon as possible to the:
