The Town Clerk’s office serves as a general information and support source to the public and to the town’s boards and commissions.
Dog licenses, fishing and hunting licenses, marriage licenses and other documents may be obtained in this office. Land and property transfers are also recorded and maintained here. Vital statistics are available and residents may also have documents notarized for a fee of $5.00 per seal..
Notices of town and area meetings are posted in the office.
Absentee ballots are obtained from this office for all primaries, elections and referendums.
You may download absentee ballot applications for elections, primaries and referendum from the below link. Once at the site, under quick links select voter registration forms, under absentee ballot applications. Click English or Spanish language Application form for Absentee Ballot if you want to vote in an election or a primary. Fill out the application, print it and mail to the Town Clerk’s Office, 501 Main St. South, Southbury, CT 06488.

For referendum, follow the same procedure as above, but click on English or Spanish language Application for Absentee Ballot for referendum only. These applications MUST BE DELIVERED TO US IN PERSON BY THE APPLICANT OR THE APPLICANT’S DESIGNEE.
